Spring Hair Trim

Getting your hair trimmed regularly is an important part of healthy hair growth. Regular trims get rid of split ends and single-strand knots that form at the ends. I personally prefer to trim my hair myself since I usually wear my hair in protective styles (twists).

Two years ago, I discovered the Morrocco Method. It’s a haircare system that follows lunar cycles and seasons to achieve certain hair goals. At first, I trimmed my hair each season based on that season’s hair benefit— and it seemingly produced great results! Last year I started off trimming my hair every month (every lunar) cycle, but quickly realized that my hair wouldn’t grow if I trimmed it that often.

This year, I’m back to trimming my hair every season. This year’s spring trim aligned with the thickening hair goal. The Morrocco Method also sells hair products that align with each goal, but I prefer to use products that I know my hair loves (my days of trying new products are temporarily over).

The thickening hair goal activates the growth cycle while focusing on scalp health. Prior to my trim, I washed and styled my hair with She Scent It’s Tropical Fruit Sangria and Papaya lines, both of which contain ingredients that are good for the scalp.

A month after my trim (I trimmed on the spring equinox), I have noticed significant growth/length retention, but it can also be the result of healthier hair habits I’m practicing— including eating healthier. Still, the idea of trimming my hair every season seems like the perfect and easiest way to trim my hair throughout the year.
